Responsible Riding
Rules of the (off) Road
- Always ride on legal trails.
- Ride considerately — give way to horses and pedestrians, and always warn of your approach and ride slowly when approaching horses, especially from behind.
- Don't spook animals.
- Ride in control — you don't know who's around the corner.
- Leave gates as you find them — if you're unsure, shut them.
- Keep the noise down and don't swear loudly when you fall off in front of walkers.
- Leave no trace — take home everything you took out.
- Keep water sources clean — don't take toilet stops near streams.
- Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work.

Where To Shop
For bike bits, 18 Bikes and Trail Monkeys are the only bike shops in the Peak, based conveniently in Hope and Bradwell, these guys will keep you on the trails. You may want some Bakewell pudding, a slice of pie or a cold drink — many of the small villages in the Peak have local businesses which are really supportive of mountain biking in the area.
There are also shops in Matlock, Stanley Fearns; Whaley Bridge, Bike Factory; Buxton, Mark Anthony Cycles; and Glossop, High Peak Cycles.
